The video is the latest from Audi on the subject of piloted driving. Audi has long been a driving force in the are of highly-automated driving, and has repeatedly documented its progress in this technology with spectacular demonstrations.

Audi and Stanford University were fastest to complete a 150-mile course, winning that year’s DARPA Grand Challenge for automated vehicles.

2005:

An Audi TTS sets the world speed record for automated vehicles with a speed of 210 km/h (130.5 mph)

2009:

An Audi TTS climbs Pikes Peak without a driver.

2010:

Audi is the first carmaker to test piloted driving under real conditions in Nevada, and the first OEM to receive a Nevada autonomous driving license.

2013:

: At Hockenheimring speedway, the Audi RS 7 piloted driving concept completed a lap at racing speed without a driver present.

2014

: Audi RS 7 piloted driving concept drives autonomously in record time at the challenging FAST Parcmotor race track. Also, at CES Asia in May 2015, the car was put to the test in the heavy traffic of the Shanghai city highway.

2015

The innovation and technology behind Audi’s progress in piloted driving has started to make its way into the newer models that have been launched. Driver assist features such as Active Lane Assist and Traffic Jam Assist are already available in models such as the Audi A4 that was launched in Singapore this year.
