Audi quattro Cup golf tournament drives into Singapore
For the first time in the event’s 18-year history, the Audi quattro Cup will host a local competition in Singapore.

The Audi quattro Cup is recognised as the world’s biggest and most successful tournament series in amateur golf. Established in 1991, it involves over 750 tournaments in 51 countries. Over 78,000 amateur golfers are expecting to take part in the 2008 tournament.
Singapore’s inaugural Audi quattro Cup competition will take place at Sentosa Golf Club on August 21, 2008. The one-day tournament, open exclusively to Audi drivers, is expected to attract 120 participants. Winners from the Singapore round will compete in the 2008 World Final at the exclusive ABAMA Resort in Tenerife, Spain, between 17th to 21st October 2008.
The tournament derives its name from Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. In 1980, quattro revolutionised vehicle performance and safety in the way it transferred power to the car’s wheels from front to back and side to side as needed. In keeping with the quattro theme, the Audi quattro Cup adopts a four player per flight format (two teams of two players), with constant rotation in play. It uses Select Drive Alternate shot, with a shotgun start. Greensome Stableford scoring determines the winning team.
The Audi quattro Cup will also be the site for the exclusive preview of the new Audi TTS in Singapore. A TTS will be on show as part of a sneak preview at the event. The new Audi TTS is the most powerful TT ever, combining high-performance with striking, ultra-sporty design. Audi’s unique approach to the TT has seen the model become an icon of design that differentiates it from any other sports coupe on the road.
