CHANGAN’s SDA Pilot Takes Aim At Safer, Smoother Driving
With more than 7,500 engineers behind it, CHANGAN is pushing its latest intelligent-driving system into production.
CHANGAN has launched SDA Pilot, its latest advanced driver-assistance system, as it steps up its push into intelligent driving.
Three versions are currently available: Pro, Max and Ultra, with an even more advanced tier coming later.
The flagship SDA Pilot Ultra combines Highway NCA, Urban NCA, parking assistance covering more than 400 scenarios and 31 active-safety features.
It gets serious hardware too, with a 560 TOPS computing chip and 256-line LiDAR. CHANGAN says the system can process information at millisecond-level speeds.
The AI has been trained using more than 20 million segments of real-world driving data, aiming to deliver more natural, human-like driving behaviour.
It also uses a vision-and-voice multimodal AI model, allowing drivers to interact with the system using natural-language commands while remembering aspects of their driving behaviour.
CHANGAN now has more than 7,500 intelligent-driving engineers, backed by over €7.7 billion in cumulative R&D investment.
Its SDA Lab runs 24/7, testing more than 400,000 virtual scenarios and simulating 3.3 million km of driving every dayacross conditions representing 224 regions worldwide.
The first production model to get SDA Pilot Ultra is the CHANGAN NEVO Q06, which has opened for pre-orders.
CHANGAN says its intelligent-driving development dates back to 2009, with its Level 2 IACC system entering mass production in 2018 and a Level 3 milestone following in 2025.
