CNG may take off in Singapore

With the addition of three new CNG stations in Singapore, more drivers may find it lucrative to convert their cars to take in CNG.

By the end of this year, there will be three new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations - one in Mandai by mid-February, another in Jalan Buroh in Jurong by end-February and the third in Serangoon North Avenue 5 by year's end. This may be a boon for motorist seeking cheaper energy alternatives due to escalating petrol cost.

A cheap and reliable form of alternative energy, CNG has been used in many other countries such as Thailand (think Tuk-tuk) and Malaysia for years already.

Singapore ,on the other hand, has only one CNG station currently located on Jurong Island and with the planned increase of three more CNG stations, this will definitely help increase the number of motorist deciding to make the switch.
