Xiaomi YU7 GT Goes Driverless Around The Ring
Xiaomi's autonomous driving tech has reached a new milestone on the world's most demanding circuit.

Xiaomi has achieved a world first in autonomous driving, completing an officially certified driverless lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

A Xiaomi YU7 GT equipped with Track Package recorded a 10:29.483 lap time around the 20.8 km circuit, with no human driver behind the wheel. The run was conducted under the Nürburgring's official timing procedures.
Following the achievement, the Nürburgring introduced a new AUTONOMOUS DRIVING category for electric vehicles.
Widely regarded as one of the world's toughest circuits, the Nordschleife features 73 corners, around 300 metres of elevation change and constantly changing grip levels. Xiaomi's autonomous system completed the entire lap while managing steering, braking and acceleration on its own.
The company says the result validates its latest autonomous driving technology under extreme conditions and highlights the potential of AI-powered vehicle control systems.
Xiaomi's autonomous driving platform is built on an end-to-end architecture and vehicle dynamics model, allowing the vehicle to analyse road conditions and make driving decisions in real time. Data gathered from the Nürburgring programme will be used to further improve vehicle control, dynamics modelling and safety systems.
