Corvette ZR1 breaks 200mph barrier
Supercharged 6.2 litre V8 engine powers the ZR1 beyond 200 mph.

The Corvette ZR1 with its supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine delivers an incredible 611bhp and 807Nm of torque.
Corvette has yet to confirm performance figures for the car, but the current Corvette flagship, the Z06, has 505bhp, goes from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 199mph. With the supercharged engine in its bay, the ZR1 should breech the magic 200mph barrier when it goes on sale this summer.
The ZR1 features aggresive styling cues, including an sharpen front splitter to improve aerodynamics. Other styling includes air vents in the front wings and ahead of the rear wheels, and massive 20-inch multi-spoke alloys. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox that has specially selected ratios, while revised suspension ensures the car can handle the increased power. Braking performance will also be improved with the inclusion of carbon ceramic brakes.
More details will be released when the ZR1 debuts at the Detroit Motor Show later this month.
