MINI has always been more than just a car - it’s a whole attitude, shaped by its rally-winning roots in the 1960s. One of its biggest moments came at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, where the Mini Cooper S, driven by Timo Mäkinen, stunned the competition with its agility and resilience in tough conditions. That victory helped define the brand’s underdog spirit and it still influences MINI today.

Now, MINI Asia is bringing that legacy back with the 1965 Victory Edition - a modern take on a classic success story. It blends heritage-inspired design with contemporary performance, staying true to the brand’s racing DNA.

In Singapore, the edition is available in both the MINI John Cooper Works and the fully electric John Cooper Works Electric. The petrol version delivers 231 hp and hits 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the EV pushes out up to 258 hp and does the sprint slightly quicker at 5.9 seconds.

Design-wise, it leans heavily into its motorsport past. The Chili Red paintwork, white racing stripe, and “52” side graphics nod directly to the original rally car. Other touches like the white roof, “1965” badge on the C-pillar, and sporty 18-inch wheels reinforce the theme.

Step inside and the tribute continues. The cabin features a red-and-black JCW colour scheme, with subtle “1965” details on elements like the steering wheel and centre console. There are also special plaques highlighting the historic rally win, making every drive feel like a small piece of MINI history.
