Daihatsu unveils the Move Conte
Japan’s biggest minicar maker, Daihatsu Motor Co. introduces its new mini passenger vehicle ‘MOVE Conte’ during a press conference in Tokyo today, in response to consumer demand for fuel-efficient cars.

The ‘cubic’ styled minivan is equipped with 660cc gasoline engine and KF-VE in 58 hp power, and the interior designed to support the preference for space, comfort and simplicity.
Priced between 1.04 million yen (US $9,400) and 1.67 million yen (USD 15,225), producers promise that the average fuel consumption at Dauhatsu Move Conte should not exceed 5.3 litres / 100 km with any type of drive.
Daihatsu, 51 percent owned by Toyota Motor Corp., aims to sell 4,000 Move Contes a month in Japan.
Definitely a good move by the Japanese to combat rising petrol prices.
Among Japan's 10 best-selling vehicles in July, four were minicars, including Daihatsu's Tanto, Move and Mira. Suzuki's Wagon R was the top seller. Move Conte is Daihatsu's second derivative of the Move minicar, which it first introduced in 1995.
