Chevrolet launched the diesel variants of its two successful cars - Chevrolet Captiva Diesel and Chevrolet Epica Diesel - to offer Singaporean drivers a smoother, more powerful drive. The launch of the Chevrolet Captiva Diesel and Chevrolet Epica Diesel underscores Chevrolet's commitment to lead in the development of alternative propulsion. Diesel engines play an important role in Chevrolet's global advanced propulsion strategy as diesel has been identified as the next emerging alternative fuel.

To further encourage Singaporeans to switch to diesel-powered cars, Chevrolet will offer a 50% subsidy on the supplementary diesel tax charged on non-gasoline vehicles for the first three years. This attractive offer increases the affordability of the diesel cars for customers.

Chevrolet's diesel engine is compliant with the stringent Euro IV emissions standards, and produces significantly less emissions than the gasoline variants to perform the same energy output. Internal tests indicate that the Chevrolet diesel variants can consume up to 40% less fuel for the same distance. Coupled with lower cost of diesel fuel as compared to petrol, this translates into higher fuel efficiency and cost savings for drivers, and helps to reduce the cost of car ownership.
