F1: Ricciardo’s Melbourne result to remain nullified
A couple of races back, Ricciardo on his first Red Bull outing scored a podium, one that was quickly snatched away from the Aussie after the stewards found his RB10 to have fouled the fuel flow regulations. Red Bull argued that the FIA part was inaccurate and that Renault’s was more precise. However the FIA stood firm and Red Bull decided to challenge them in the FIA court. After a six-hour hearing on Monday, the FIA took its stance and kept the result nullified and void. Although Red Bull accepted the decision, they were disappointed with the outcome, for Ricciardo sits in P10 with 12 points, almost 49 down on Championship leader Nico Rosberg. So far, it hasn’t been a dream start to Ricciardo’s Red Bull career. After the disqualification in Australia, a wheel fell off in Malaysia, which turned him from a front runner to a back marker. He eventually retired from mechanical failures. He finished 4th at Bahrain, closely behind Perez’s Force India.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
