Ferrari F430 successor details
Oneshift reported earlier that the F430's replacement was in the works. More details on the successor have emerged since.

The F142, as it is known inside the factory, is expected to debut in early 2010. With no end in sight to the economic crisis, the new F430 is reportedly not going to have a bigger displacement engine.
Instead, engineers are focusing on trimming down the new car's weight. Their goal is a lighter chassis, which in turn only needs a smaller displacement engine.
A V8 is still in the works, but purists may be in for a shock: It might actually be packing a turbocharger! The power unit will also have direct injection, which will help reduce emissions whilst bumping up power.
The spyder or convertible version will also feature a lightweight hard-top. And the F142 will no longer be the entry model Ferrari: It will be priced above the California.
