Hankook Tire Achieves Top Marks in 3 Major Tire Tests

Hankook achieved best rankings in tire tests conducted by leading German automobile magazines Auto Motor Und Sport, Gute Fahrt, and Promobil.

Once again proving its world-best performance and high quality, Hankook Tire’s luxury premium summer UHP (Ultra High Performance) tire Ventus S1 evo was ranked first out of ten global tire brands by the German top automotive magazine Auto Motor Und Sport(Publication date Mar.11.2010/Issue no.7). The publication reviewed UHP tires by testing their performances including handling, braking, driving safety, comfort, etc. Hankook’s flagship tire showed top-performs in all relevant test criterion including the best marks for braking in the wet and dry, and shaked off leading tire players with a large gap with the second-place runner. The test tire dimension was 245/45 R 17 on a Mercedes Benz E-Class.

Gute Fahrt’s also rated “Very Good” for Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo on its annual summer tire test, issued this month. The VW and Audi specialized magazine highly recommended Hankook’s high-end wide-base tire for its best “braking on wet” relevant to safety, and excellent directional stability in dry surface as well. Also, the tire received the highest possible recommendation for noise, comfort, wet/dry handling, and convinced with good marks in the ecological relevant topic rolling resistance as well. Participants of the testing were 10 products in the dimension 205/55 R 16 V/W on a VW Golf 2.0 TDI.

Moreover, Hankook’s light truck tire Radial RA14 ranked first and was labeled as the “Test Winner” of the latest tire test of Europe’s biggest motorhome-magazine Promobil. Hankook Tire participated with 235/65 R 16 C mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van. The RA14 proved its superior performance and safety by receiving the “Best” result in wet, and showed excellence in other test criteria including rolling resistance. Out of the ten participants, Hankook’s Radial RA14 received the overall note 8.9.
