Ferrari, McLaren-Mercedes, Toyota, BMW and Renault are determined to stay in the sport.

Honda's departure comes on the heels of FIA President Max Mosley's repeated calls for cost cutting in F1. The economic crisis has claimed its first Formula One victim.

The top teams in F1 spend an average of $400 million a year, and this trend is unsustainable.

With the top teams insistence that they will stay put, fears that Honda's exit may result in the domino effect of other teams also departing have been downplayed. For now.
