Indian automaker Tata Motors is closer to acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford after winning the support of the British brands unions. Though non-essential, this signifies an important victory for Tata. The unions voted that if Ford were to sell the two manufacturers they feel Tata would be the optimal choice.

However, the unions still believe that Ford keeping Jaguar and Land Rover would be the best situation for the workforce.

As for the rest of us, we can only wait and see how this saga rolls out.
