Meet Bentley’s New Electric Powerhouse, The Torcal
With 888 PS, 1,350 Nm and up to 600 km of range, Bentley’s first EV isn’t exactly taking things easy.
Bentley has pulled the covers off the all-new Torcal, its fourth model line and, more importantly, its first fully electric model.
Built in Crewe, the five-metre luxury SUV produces up to 888 PS and 1,350 Nm, with the range-topping Torcal S doing 0 - 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
Underneath sits an 800V, 113 kWh battery, delivering up to 600 km of WLTP range. On a 400 kW charger, 10 to 80 per cent takes around 16 minutes, while seven minutes can add roughly 161 km.
Bentley did not hold back on chassis tech. The Torcal gets fully active suspension, adaptive two-valve dampers and rear-wheel steering, while 25 radars, sensors and cameras provide advanced driver-assistance and parking functions.
Inside, the luxury treatment continues with 16-way seats, massage functions, optional Postural Adjust and Smart Seat Climate, plus a three-seat rear bench with power folding.
And yes, Bentley has even created its own soundtrack for the EV, using real drums, viola and bass guitar to recreate the rhythm and feel of its V8s.
The Torcal launches in core and sportier S forms, with the latter getting 888 PS and a 260 km/h top speed.
