IT: Total revenue up for Ferrari
Ferrari delivered less cars as compared to 2013, but the company has made more money than before. In the first half of 2014, Ferrari made around €1.35 million, a 14.5% increase, while profit generated from trading reached a staggering €185 million, an increase of 5.2 %. Net income is also on the rise; it has reached €127.6 million, a 10% increase compared to the past. Ferrari delivered 3,631 road cars, a 3.6% drop from the same period last year. The drop is attributed to the phasing out of the previous generation of the Ferrari California, along with the strategic decision to reduce production. Britain remains Ferrari’s largest European market with 408 delivered cars, which is 7 less cars as compared to the 415 in the first half of 2013. Outside of the EU however, more Ferraris are being delivered than ever. In Japan, there has been a 13% increase in the number of Ferraris driven off the lot, while in Australia, there has been a 7.7% rise in the number of Ferraris sold. There is a hungry market for the prancing horse in America as well, with 1062 cars sold, and increase of 13%.
