Italy: President Montezemolo and Scuderia Ferrari test driver Marc Gene Visits the Ferrari Summer Centre
This is the fifth year of the Ferrari Summer Centre and it continues to grow. There were only 100 children taking part in 2010, while there are over 650 this year. Every day, from 7.30 in the morning to 8.30 in the evening, Ferrari employees can leave their children from the ages of 3 to 14 in the hands of 80 education professionals and the service is free of charge. This is yet another activity that is part of the initiatives set up by Ferrari for its staff, to meet their needs. "I am very keen on this initiative that is an amazing example of company welfare and a well-run collaboration with local institutions. All those involved in the organization have done an extraordinary job." said Montezemolo.
"With the Summer Centre, families can leave their children with qualified educational staff, in a safe and quiet place, close to the factory, which gives the parents a real rest during the school holidays," added Montezemolo.
To mark the visit, the children put on a performance with singing and dancing, much to the delight of the guests. Before leaving the children and the staff to their activities, the President thanked the Mayor of Maranello, Massimiliano Morini, for his continued support for the initiative and the parish priest of Maranello, Father Paolo Monelli for his coordinating efforts.
