Lexus confirms hybrid LF-A supercar

The Japanese company’s first supercar, the LF-A, first came into light a few years ago, when it was featured as a concept car. Lexus has brought that dream to life with confirmation of its production, and more – there will even be a hybrid version of it.

If a 5.0-litre V10 with over 500 hp isn’t exactly your thing, you could possibly consider the eco-friendlier V8 with an electric motor, which is what sources have said it is likely to be. The hybrid will still produce 435 hp and is expected to be utilizing the block from its IS-F super saloon.

Lexus UK’s director, Steve Settle, told Motor Trader, “This car will not be an adaptation of anything that already exists – it will be something entirely different. It promises to set a fresh standard in the hybrid technology to which Lexus is totally committed and we are very excited about it."

Expected to arrive late next year, a near-production model will in display later this year, in October, at the Tokyo Motor Show.
