The RX range is the best selling luxury SUV in Singapore over the last decade and it is also the best selling luxury SUV in the United States of America this year.

Following the success of the Lexus RX range, the pursuit of perfection continues on with the introduction of a new compact engine model - the RX 270 - for drivers who seek a more relaxed drive but yet do not wish to compromise on the luxury of the vehicle. Designed around the driver, the RX 270 provides ultimate convenience, comfort, safety and an exceptional driving experience.

The new RX 270 also offers high intensity discharge (HID) headlights as standard, with adaptive front lighting system (AFS) as option. The plated upper edges of the front grille extend towards the headlights to draw the front features together. The lower edges of the
grille form a unique arrowhead design. Subtle surface movement can be seen in the sculpted vertical bars that change shape as they spread upwards.

Pronounced front fenders flow into the doors, and integrated rear fender flares neatly, to pull together the taut rear corners of the vehicle. The lower body emphasises the standard 18-inch wheels.

The new RX 270 teams a 2.7-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine with a six-speed Super Intelligent Electronically Controlled Transaxle (ECT). It also has a better fuel efficiency of 10.4 km/litre.
Dual VVT-i, an Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) and a 3-stage variable oil pump have been adopted. These and other highly efficient, lightweight and clean emission technologies such as Tumble Control Valves (TCV) are used to achieve reduced fuel consumption, high power output, low emissions, and reduced noise and vibration.

Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) is used to control both intake and exhaust camshafts independently; optimising engine performance at all speeds and loads. The Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), which varies the intake runner length in response to engine speed and throttle position, assists in enhancing the torque. And the TCV enhances combustion when engine is cold, achieving quick warm-up of the catalyst and reducing the amount of fuel that adheres to the intake ports.

The shape of the engine cover has also been designed to reduce engine noise and a rubber mounting design has been adopted for a boltless structure.

Depending on trim level, the RX270 is priced from $185,000 to $200,000. Also unveiled today are updated versions of the RX350 and RX450h. New enhanced features like the optional Lexus Remote Touch Controller and Parking Assist system differentiate the new models from the old.
