The flagship model to the MINI family, the JCW focuses particularly on sporting performance – and at the same time establishing a new market position for John Cooper Works. The MINI John Cooper Works provide the driving pleasure so typical of MINI in true racing character, reflecting the unique nature and tradition of John Cooper Works.
The latest JCW's drivetrain and chassis components was derived directly from the MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE racing model - the car's best features include a 211bhp four-cylinder with twin-scroll turbocharger and direct gasoline injection lump, lightweight 17-inch alloy rims, powerful brakes, model-specific exhaust system and modified six-speed manual gearbox.
Its newly developed four-cylinder power unit - based on the MINI Cooper S - have pistons, valves, turbochargers, intake and exhaust system optimised for motorsport. This leads to a further increase in power and torque, with a specific output of 131bhp per litre. The engine also fulfils all requirements of the future EU 5 emission
standard.
