Mitsubishi gives Jaymee Ong an i-Play. Jealous?

Only just a few days ago, Cycle & Carriage gave the keys of a spanking new Mitsubishi i-Play, over to none other than model and actress Jaymee Ong, who is currently a Kosmic Film Entertainment Artiste, and an ambassador to the i-Play design contest.

Jaymee will be driving the i-Play bearing the mark of the winning design, for the next six months.

Jaymee Ong hosted the launch event at the Ministry of Sound about a year ago, and again in June this year, Jaymee Ong crossed path with the Mitsubishi i once again, when Mitsubishi launched an online design contest on the 16th of June.

If you like Jaymee Ong and are a fan, you can also log onto www.mitsubishi-i.com.sg from August onwards, just to check in on how she is doing with her "i"

Over 200 contestants participated in this design contest, where they had to download the blank Mitsubishi i-Play from the abovementioned site, design it, and then, upload their designs.

While the five best designs were selected for public voting, Jaymee had the final say in her best designed i-Play, giving the public a chance to win even more prizes, simply by guessing the final design to be picked by Jaymee.

The finalists and their decorated i-Plays were on display at the Mitsubishi Showroom, where 21-year Temasek Polytechnic student and winner Tan Ken Boon's "Rebel Without A Pause" was eventually picked.

“Ken’s creation encapsulated everything I was looking for in the design. It’s funky, fun and cheeky with such a clever play of words. I’m really looking forward to zipping around town in my i-Play. It’s one of the kind!”, Jaymee said.

Tan Ken Boon won a dinner date with Jaymee at the cozy Bice Restaurant, $500 cash prize, passes to Ministry of Sound and a one-year Attitude Card membership from The Cannery.

The lucky lady who cast the winning vote was Ms Jamie Julian who received $100 cash, passes to Ministry of Sound, Gmask vouchers and an exclusive Mitsubishi i mouse set. The design finalists each won passes to Ministry of Sound.

Sponsors and partners of the Mitsubishi i-Play design contest include The Cannery, Ministry of Sound and Universal Music Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Mitsubishi i-Play is essentially an "i" fitted with a new 4-speaker sound system that also swallows signals from an iPod. You control your music on the iPod via the touch screen on the audio system’s LCD screen.

In addition, this screen changes colour according to the colour of your iPod.
