New Astra Sedan 1.8 joins Opel's stable here

Another German contender joins the lucrative sedan market here.

Opel's four-door Astra sedan made its debut today, becoming the fifth model in the Astra range alongside the five-door hatch, sports wagon, three-door GTC and cabrio-coupe TwinTop variants.

The new Astra sedan boasts a powerful 140bhp ECOTEC Double Continuous Variable Cam Phasing engine that maximises fuel efficiency and promises greater savings and increased driving comfort. The interior sees enhanced cockpit details, ergonomically improved 3-spoke steering wheel and power remote luggage compartment door release fitted for added comfort and convenience. Other innovative technological features include ABS and EBD, Electronic Stabilisation Program, Hill Start Assist and cruise control.

The new Opel Astra Sedan 1.8 (A) retails at $86,888 (price with COE).
