Looking virtually production ready, the 2009 CR-Z Concept features subtle changes to the original CR-Z Concept that debuted in 2007.

Notable differences include a new hood, revised headlights and a larger rear quarter window. Out back, the concept boasts a redesigned hatch, attractive tail-lights, and an aggressive rear diffuser (which may feature an integrated exhaust system).

The interior has been completely revised with something a bit more contemporary however some of the concept's design attributes still remain, such as the single dial instrument cluster.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine outfitted with Honda's Integrated Motor Assist technology. Connected to a six-speed manual transmission, the engine should allow the CR-Z to be entertaining and efficient.

According to Honda, the production version on sale in the UK next summer 2010 will be the world's first sports hybrid car, and the first ever petrol-electric vehicle to employ a 6-speed manual transmission.
