Nissan powers Formula Drift ProAm Series 2009

As a sponsor for Formula Drift ProAm Series 2009, Nissan had in store a diverse range of activities engaging over 4,000 motor sports enthusiasts and pre-converts in the spectacle of motor sports.

On top of stunning powerslides, the Nissan 370Z, the Official Formula Drift ProAm Series 2009 Car and Official Formula Drift ProAm Series 2009 Safety Car, chauffeured in guest-of-honour Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs, and was at the flag off of this year’s race.

While the cars drifted into action, five pairs of lucky winners for the pre-event weekly draw, as well as GT-R, Nissan 370Z and 350Z owners enjoyed superior service in the Nissan hospitality lounge with exclusive VIP passes.

Furthermore, all visitors at the mega event stood a chance to win the grand prize, a pair of return tickets to Japan.

"This is an interesting event and we are excited to be invited by Tan Chong Motor to soak in the adrenaline rush. It is a great way to reward Nissan car owners and I am definitely enticed by the Nissan 370Z after the remarkable drifting display," quipped Roy Tang, a Nissan 350Z owner.

The prowess of the Nissan 370Z thrilled the crowd when four lucky visitors got to ride with four professional drivers during the highly-anticipated Nissan 370Z challenge where they pitted their driving skills against one another to park into a restricted space.

In addition, visitors had an eye feast on five Nissan cars including the well-renowned GT-R displayed at the arena. There were also photo-taking opportunities with the perfect union of beauty and brawn — race queens and sleek Nissan cars.

This year’s Formula Drift ProAm Series saw the inaugural partnership between Nissan and the Traffic Police for the Road Safety for the Road Safety Outreach 2009.
