Only 46 contestants remain after 48th hour mark

Fighting exhaustion and a continuous drizzle which started from an early morning downpour, only 46 contestants remained in contention after the 1pm break of the MediaCorp Radio Subaru Impreza Challenge 2008, which marks the 48th hour of the Challenge.

Out of the remaining 46 contestants, 14 female contestants and 32 male contestants are still refusing to let their hand slip from their dream car. Six regional male contestants remain in contention - three Filipinos and three Thai contestants. All regional contestants from Malaysia and Hong Kong have dropped out, with the last Malaysian contestant, Prem Kumar Arumugam, 33, an Executive dropping out at 33rd hour last night. Arumugam stands to go home with a S$5,000 cash prize for being the last Malaysian contestant to drop out.

While only a fraction of the original 397 contestants remain in the Challenge, some notable contestants continue to go strong. Joey Tan Shuang Ming, 28, the husband of last year's winner, Sandra Yeow, remains standing strong.

Car number 3 stands out from the fleet of Subaru Impreza cars for having the most contestants - 10.

The continuous rain has not dampened the spirits of the contestants, some of whom were seen trembling whilst dancing to the music, whilst others hugged each other for warmth.
