Q50 Awarded 2015 Car of the Year in Korea

AB Volvo has completed the acquisition of 45% of the Chinese automotive manufacturer, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles Co., Ltd. The purchase consideration amounted to RMB 5.5 billion. As announced earlier, AB Volvo signed an agreement in January 2013 with the Chinese automotive manufacturer, Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (DFG), to acquire 45% of a subsidiary of DFG, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles Co., Ltd (DFCV). DFCV includes most of Dongfeng’s operations in heavy-duty and medium-duty commercial vehicles.

After a 10 year hiatus, the NSX is back. Acura unveiled the finished article at NAIAS yesterday. Whilst the exterior design is similar to the concept first showed off in 2013, the mechanical bits underneath the skin have been given quite the update; gone is the concept’s naturally aspirated, transverse-mounted V6, and in its place, is a longitudinally mounted, turbocharged, dry-sump V6 that produces more than 550 horsepower. The engine is then coupled with 3 electric motors to deliver power to all four wheels. The production car is slightly bigger than the concept car as well, standing it at about an inch wider, 0.6 inches taller and 0.8 inches longer in wheelbase. The car’s overall length has been stretched 3.1 inches as well. Several design elements have been altered as well, to keep the hotter turbocharged V6 cooler. The new NSX will cost around US$150,000, or SGD$200407 before COE, making it cheaper than most of its rivals.

Infiniti made their plans to race in the BTCC public several months ago. After weeks of work, their Q50 is ready to take on the 2015 BTCC season. For their championship charge in 2015, Infiniti has teamed up with the "Support our Paras" charity, in a bid to raise both funds and awareness about the charity and their goals. The completed car will be revealed by the team at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham later this week. The new paint scheme has been designed by Infiniti's own design team in Paddington London, and will eventually employ injured ex-Paratroopers to prepare both race cars as part of their tie-up with Paras Racing. 100% of the team’s profits will go towards the 'Support Our Paras' charity. Derek Palmer Jnr and Richard Hawken will drive the two Infiniti Support Our Paras Racing NGTC Infiniti Q50s, and they are set to compete with cars built by several of the world’s largest makes, a list which includes several legendary names in the racing world, such as Honda, Mercedes, Audi and BMW.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
