Five months after becoming an independent car manufacturer, Saab Automobile’s restructuring of its sales operations is firmly on track. With representation in 53 countries around the world, Saab is now operating through a mix of National Sales Companies, Importers and a new Direct-Dealer concept.

North America, Sweden and Great Britain, representing the brand’s three biggest markets, remain as separate Sales Company organizations with direct responsibility for the Saab dealer network in these markets.

A new and creative Direct-Dealer structure is also in place in nine European countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Austria. Under this arrangement, Saab Automobile is engaged in a direct commercial relationship with its dealers, who order and receive cars straight from the factory. Local Saab field teams provide sales, marketing, technical and other support. This approach results in both efficient and cost-effective sales operations.

In other markets, Saab is also represented by highly-motivated and professional private Importers, who supply their dealer networks, and this strategy will continue where appropriate.

Adrian Hallmark, Executive Director of Sales for Saab Automobile, said: “We now have motivated teams in place who are fully focused on providing dealers and Saab customers with all the support they require. New 9-5 sedans are currently being delivered to dealers around the world and with order books filling up, we are in good shape to meet customer demand.”
