The second up-ramp is located along Raffles Quay, beside Hong Leong Building. With the opening of this connection motorists will be able to access the viaduct via the up-ramp at Central Boulevard as well as from Raffles Quay. There will be no change to the at-grade roads at Raffles Quay and Robinson Road.

The temporary viaduct is to ensure lane for lane replacement during the construction of Downtown Line 1 (DTL1). The viaduct will be in use till the targeted completion of the Cross Street Station in 2012.

Safety Measures
For safety reasons, motorists using the viaduct are to observe the following restrictions:

- Speed limit on up-ramp: 40km/h
- Maximum vehicle weight: 2.5tonnes
- Height limit on viaduct: 2m from Raffles Quay up-ramp
- Height limit beneath the viaduct: 4.5m

Vehicles exceeding the maximum weight and height limits as stated above, and motorcycles are not allowed to access the viaduct. As such, motorcyclists and drivers of such vehicles are advised to plan their route in advance if they are heading to China Street as the only route to access is via Pickering Street.

Ample road signage, indicating the above mentioned restrictions, will be erected at roads leading to the viaduct ramp and various locations to inform motorists.

Should motorists have any queries, they may contact the LTA hotline at 1800-CALL LTA.
