SG: 6 vehicle break-ins in same area in Hougang

Police are currently investigating vehicle break-ins in Hougang Central. At least one break-in was reported this weekend, with owners being greeted with smashed windows and stolen valuables. So far, it is thought that at least 6 occured in the vicinity of Block 830A.   One car owner left her car on the top level top level of the open-air multi-storey carpark, only for her husband to find a smashed driver's window and a missing cashcard. Should her insurance claim be rejected, she may have to fork out $500 to repair the damages. A spokesperson from the Singapore Police Force have reminded the public to not to leave valuables unattended or exposed in their vehicles, even if it's for a short time, and to lock them up. We feel the same too; prevention is better than cure, and it is better to secure your valuables than to leave them exposed. This will reduce the risk of a break in, thus reducing the chances of losing your items and the risk of a costly repair.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
