SG: Driver of prime mover jailed for dangerous driving.

48 year old truck driver Yeo Teck Chye has been sentenced to seven months in jail and banned for driving for seven years after causing a fatal accident due to dangerous driving. The accident took place in 2008. He was travelling along Telok Blangah viaduct, where he struck and killed a man who was directing traffic away from a stationary lorry. He was granted bail and is currently appealing to the sentence. The stationary lorry belongs to Mr Lim Kim Toon's friend, who was driving the lorry at the time. Mr Lim was in that very lorry. The lorry suffered a puncture, which forced them to pull over to the side. Lim placed two cartons of apples 20 metres from the rear of the truck. He stood 5 metres away from the lorry to redirect traffic around the stranded lorry. Yeo then struck Lim and skidded to hit the stationary lorry as he was approaching the exit to Brani Gate 2.
