SG: High speed Rail Terminus set for Jurong East
It may have been many years in the making, but the LTA has finally confirmed that the High Speed Rail between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will be a go, and a plot of land in Jurong has been set aside to serve as Singapore’s Terminus for said High Speed Rail System. The future Terminus will be located at the current site of Jurong Country Club (JCC) in Jurong East. The area will also see a total revamp and comprehensive redevelopment for new mixed-use developments and community facilities to serve Jurong residents, HSR passengers and visitors. Part of the plan, which includes improving accessibility at Jurong East, will integrate existing and new MRT lines with future developments, the Integrated Transport Hub, and connected with pedestrian linkways.
