SG: Lexus LF-LC First-Time Showcase At The Lexus Boutique
Up to 30 August 2013, Lexus fans and car enthusiasts in Singapore will have a rare opportunity to have a close look at the critically-acclaimed, award winning Lexus LF-LC concept coupé. It is specially flown in and will be on display for the first time at the new Lexus Boutique at 33 Leng Kee Road. The award winning Lexus LF-LC was unveiled to global acclaim at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. Having been conceptualized at the Lexus' Calty design studio in New Port Beach, California, it was embarked upon as the future hybrid sports coupé embodying the brands belief in combining advanced technology with ultramodern beauty.
Drawing inspiration from nature in the form of a tree leaf, the LF-LC accentuates sumptuous curves blended smoothly into dynamic angles, creating an inviting display of lines, shadows and corners. Framed by a deep aluminium surround, the mesh pattern of the spindle grille takes 3D sculpture form and the opposed “L”s resembles water droplets falling down the grille. L-shaped daytime running lights with vertical fog lamps that utilize a fading dot matrix pattern suggest a sense of movement. A rear deck spindle grille design echoing the front of the LF-LC with L-shaped tail lamps using inner lighting - inspired by the look of a jet afterburner at take-off – creates a sense of depth and width.
The interior of the Lexus LF-LC matches the futuristic exterior with deeply scooped side panels and high, curved console designed to enhance driver focus. Comfort is combined with elegance as it features a blend of smooth leather and suede alongside brushed metal trim and wood accents. To harmonize the advanced technology within the vehicle, twin 12.3-inch LCD screens act as information and navigation displays. There are also pop-up touch-screen control boards that allow passengers to control audio, climate, navigation and other adjustments within the vehicle. The LF-LC glass roof features a lightweight, cantilevered pillar with a glass-to-glass juncture as inspired from modern architecture.
The front-engine, rear-wheel drive LF-LC features the world's most advanced powertrain, the Lexus Hybrid Drive which is part of Lexus' continuous commitment as a pioneer and leader of hybrid technology. The Lexus LF-LC packs a whopping 438 horsepower with a light and driver-responsive body mass.
