SG: LTA to enlarge bus interchanges

The LTA has announced plans to expand bus interchanges at Sengkang and Tampines. Each interchange will receive up to 12 bus bays in the revamp in a bid to accommodate the increase in buses and commuters. The extension to Sengkang’s and Tampines’ bus interchange wil be built along Compassvale Road and Tampines Concourse respectively, and work is scheduled for completion late 2015. The extension plays a vital supporting role to the Government's Bus Service Enhancement Programme; the BSEP aims to add 1,000 new buses on the road by 2017, and the infrastructure has to be upgraded to facilitate the increase in the number of buses.
