SG: Noise barriers to be installed on the PIE
Noise barriers will be installed on the PIE after initial trials have been successful. The pilot batch of the 6 metre-high barriers were installed along Anak Bukit Flyover in October last year, and more will be installed along along West Coast Highway near Block 44, Telok Blangah Drive, and the new flyover along Braddell Road, near Block 138, Bishan Street 12. Also slated to receive the barriers, is the stretch along to Swiss View and Greenbank Park. They will run for 400 metres along each side. A tender has been called and works will begin next year. The installation will help test the efficacy of said barriers along along at-grade sections , which, more often than not, are obstructed by trees, lamp posts, signs, drains and uneven terrain.
