SG: Prime to stop accepting Visa onboard their cabs.

Prime Taxi has stopped accepting Visa onboard their cabs; they are the fourth taxi company to do so after ComfortDelGro, Transcab and Premier. This boils down once again, to the long running dispute over credit card surcharges. Prime Deputy General Manager Neo Chee Yong said that cost is an issue at the end of the day, as credit card companies don't provide the payment terminals free of charge. This hasn’t convinced Visa though; they still maintain the cab firms have breached their licensing agreements by imposing surcharges. Visa isn’t the only credit card company that is opposing the surcharges, MasterCard and American Express are too, although it is unclear at this stage whether they would follow Visa's lead.
