SG: Silver Zone at Jurong West Complete
LTA has finished the construction of the Silver Zone at Jurong West Street 52! The scheme will see the addition of senior-friendly road safety features to the estate, thus making it safer for the aged to use the roads. These features include the installation of senior-friendly road safety features customised to site conditions, signs and road markings to remind motorists to slow down and look out for pedestrians. Signage urging senior pedestrians to exercise greater care when crossing the road has been put up as well. The first Silver Zone scheme was initially announced in March of 2014, and a pilot programme was launched in Bukit Merah View last October. SG: Buyer’s case against Performance Motors dismissed
A high court judge has dismissed a customer’s claim that his BMW 550i was of an unsatisfactory condition. The customer in question is a regional sale manager by the name of Mr Chan Chee Kien. He bought a BMW 550i in 2010 from Performance Motors for S$378,100, and the car had to be returned to the dealer 12 times in 14 months, with the earliest faults occurring just 2 months after delivery.
As it turns out, Chan’s Ultimate Driving Machine is anything but; the car spent roughly 11 months in the workshop, so much so that he no longer wanted the car. He then sued Performance Motors for misrepresentation and breach of contract.
Apparently, the car was riddled with up to 30 separate defects, even though 18 of them were not detectable or reproducible, and may just be simple issues which could be solved through maintenance. This led Justice Chan Seng Onn to believe that Chan’s claims were overly exaggerated, especially after he found it extremely difficult to pick out major faults in the car when it was taken for a test drive.

20 New Traffic Cameras
SINGAPORE: The Traffic Police will begin installing 20 digital speed enforcement cameras across 11 locations islandwide from Mar 1.
The police said the 20 new cameras will be operational round the clock. The cameras will be painted in bright colours and reflective tapes, and will be placed alongside speed camera zone signs, according to a news release on Thursday (Feb 26).

SG: New Loop Service connects residents to amenities
Residents from new housing estates located at Margaret Drive, Dawson Road and Kay Siang Road will soon be able to utilise a new bus service to get to nearby MRT stations and facilities. SBS Transit will introduce loop service 122 on the 15th of March, and it will start from New Bridge Road Terminal, and ply Tiong Bahru Road, Alexandra Road and Commonwealth Drive. It will also stop at bus stops close to Outram Park, Tiong Bahru and Commonwealth MRT stations.
The new service will provide convenient access to amenities which ranges from the Singapore General Hospital to schools like Crescent Girls.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
