The Proton Persona has landed
The persona has landed, from across the causeway, that is. And guess what? We are the first country outside of Malaysia to be able to purchase this Gen 2 with a boot.
An improvised 1.6l Campro engine, 82kw at 6000rpm and 148NM of torque at 4000rpm powers the Persona from 0-100km/h in 12 seconds flat (for the manual).
“We are excited about introducing our current ‘star’ in PROTON’s stable to this market, which has lots of similarities with the Malaysian domestic market. We are therefore optimistic that the Persona will be the right car for the right market at the right price for our Singapore customers,” said PROTON Holdings Bhd Chairman Dato’ Mohammed Azlan Hashim at the launch in Singapore.
Priced from SGD$51,988 (with COE), the Persona is available in manual and automatic versions and comes standard with Anti-locking Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD),Driver and Passenger airbags.

In conjunction with the launch, the first 30 buyers of the Persona will get the opportunity to attend a drive-away holiday to Malaysia and visit PROTON city in Tanjung Malim, Perak, Malaysia.
