Front airbags, side airbags, knee airbags. Toyota has probably noticed that the only part of a vehicle's interior that didn't have an airbag was the rear window.

To protect passengers from rear-end collisions, Toyota engineered this new system, which works using the normal SRS (supplementary restraint system).

This system will debut in Toyota's upcoming iQ ultra-compact vehicle. Together with headrests, the new system should go a long way in helping to minimise the severity of head injuries for rear passengers.
