Toyota claims the iQ is the world's "smallest four-seater car".

It will be available in two trim levels, iQ and iQ2. The base iQ is equipped with a 1.0 liter VVTi-equipped three-cylinder and a five-speed manual transmission. The iQ2 will be available with a continuously variable transmission.

Standard equipment will include 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, and power windows. The sound system includes an auxiliary jack, allowing owners to listen to their favourite MP3s.

Three styling packages, called iStyle, iSports and iUrban, are available to give the iQ a bit more personality.

The tiny iQ addresses also comes with an array of safety features, such as nine airbags, ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and traction control.

And to further reassure buyers, Toyota's newest innovation, the rear window airbag, will also come as standard.
