Touring version of BMW 520i and M5 Now Available In Singapore

BMW Asia has announced the launch of the all-new BMW 520i Touring, the sixth generation of the 5 Series Touring.

On the other end of the Touring spectrum sits a hot-blooded 5-er, headlined by a M HYBRID system with a V8 engine and electric motor, delivering 727hp and 1,000Nm. The 520i Touring (local specs are equipped with M Sport bits) sets you back S$377,888, while the M5 Touring starts from S$775,888.

Let’s start with the 520i Touring with M Sport

It features the longest wheelbase in its class. Exterior highlights include a modern take on twin headlights and illuminated BMW grille, sculpted rear arches and a distinctive L-shaped LED rear light design. The standard M Sport Package and 20" M aerodynamic wheels further enhance its dynamic character.

1,700 litres of storage

There’s increased space and comfort, especially in the rear, with more leg, shoulder and elbow room. The interior is expandable from 570 to 1,700 litres, and it comes with an automatic tailgate, split-folding rear seats and convenient storage options.

Standard M Sport Suspension

It combines sportiness and comfort with a balanced 50:50 axle load distribution and lightweight construction. Standard features include M Sport Suspension, while optional upgrades like M sport brakes, Adaptive Chassis Professional and Integral Active Steering enhance driving dynamics.

0-100km/h in 8.3 seconds

The 520i is mild hybrid-equipped, and it’s paired with a 2.0-litre turbo 4 cylinder that generates 190hp and 310Nm of torque. It sprints to 100km/h from rest in 8.3 seconds, and obtain a fuel consumption figure of 14.3km/l (claimed).

Now for the M5 Touring bruiser…

Equipped with the M HYBRID system, M xDrive all-wheel drive and M-specific chassis, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The car combines everyday usability with thrilling dynamics and is produced at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing.

Up to 140km/h solely on electric power

The M HYBRID system pairs a 4.4-litre V8 with a 145kW electric motor. This setup delivers 585hp and 750Nm of torque, with a top speed of 305km/h thanks to the M Driver’s Package. The electric motor allows for up to 140km/h on electric power alone, offering a range of up to 67km. The M xDrive all-wheel drive system, Active M Differential, and customisable driving modes provide a tailored performance experience, including a rear-biased 4WD Sport mode and a 2WD mode.

A family car? Think again

Body rigidity is enhanced with advanced chassis technology, including a double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle. It features adaptive M suspension, Integral Active Steering and individually adjustable dampers to balance dynamic performance and ride comfort. M Compound brakes come as standard, while 20-inch front and 21-inch rear M light-alloy wheels with high-performance tyres ensure superior traction and stability.
