UK: Aston's Design Prototype 100 to be unveiled at Goodwood

Aston Martin is unveiling an exceptional new addition to the hugely popular PlayStation®3 exclusive racing game Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) in the shape of the stunning Design Prototype 100 – DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo.  DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo is a new, virtual-only GT racer that will be available for Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) owners to download in July 2014, following the global launch at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Starting with nothing, the design team and design engineers worked for six months to create the new addition to the Vision Gran Turismo stable of race cars. Clearly pushing the boundaries of what an Aston Martin could be, DP-100 not only looks beautiful but also boasts a high degree of engineering integrity.  The twin-turbo V12 mid-engined racer offers up to 800bhp, endowing it with blistering performance fully in keeping with the high octane nature of the game.

Aston has finally cut the roof off its highly popular V12 Vantage S Coupe to create the V12 Vantage S Roadster! The British firm has promised a “new world of exhilarating driving excitement”, which is to be expected, for the car is set to be the marque’s most potent, fastest and fastest-accelerating series production roadster to date. It packs a 565 bhp Aston Martin AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine up front, which can and will propel the roadster to 100 from a standstill in 4.1 seconds, and the car will continue accelerating until it hits 201 mph. Peak and low rev torque is delivered in abundance. With 620 Nm available at 5,750 rpm the V12 Vantage S Roadster is not to be found wanting in this vital department. Crucially, too, low rev torque – measured from just 1,000 rpm – starts at a colossal 510 Nm. Together, these statistics demonstrate the Aston Martin engineers’ ability to create a ‘flatter’, yet ‘fatter’, torque curve which supports exceptional driveability and strong pick-up through the gears. As Aston Martin’s most sporting convertible, the V12 Vantage S Roadster has been styled to reflect is position as the flagship convertible in the Vantage family. In keeping with the V12 Vantage S Coupe, the Roadster replaces the famous aluminium vanes in the Aston Martin grille – with a carbon fibre arrangement that also includes sporty black or titanium silver mesh. Created to maximise airflow to the V12 engine, the new grille is inspired by both the remarkable CC100 Speedster Concept and the Vantage race cars. Other distinguishing features of the V12 Vantage S Roadster include the option of lightweight forged alloy ten-spoke wheels.

Aston Martin has confirmed that a bespoke product programme for a new super saloon that will see the revival of the historic Lagonda nameplate in a strictly limited series.  The Lagonda badge will once again sit proudly on a luxurious and exclusive super saloon. The stunning luxury super saloon revives the Lagonda philosophy of ‘the finest of fast cars’ and will be offered exclusively in the Middle East, as a result of specific market demand.
