Volkswagen is the official car sponsor of the Singapore International Energy Week
Volkswagen has been appointed the official car sponsor for the 7th annual Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), to be held from 27-31 October 2014. With the theme 'Building Energy Connections', the event will feature a line-up of conferences, exhibitions and networking events. More than 60,000 delegates from over 60 countries are set to attend SIEW 2014, which will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre. VIPs will be chauffeured around Singapore in total of 45 Volkswagen cars: 30 units of the Sharan 2.0 TSI and 15 units of the Passat 1.8 TSI.
These cars will be pre-sold to customers starting this weekend, with attractive discounts of up to $35,000. The price for a Sharan 2.0 TSI works out to be $194,800 with COE. Buyers will be able to take delivery of the low-mileage event cars from 10 November 2014 onwards. Registration will be done just before the delivery to customers, as the cars will be running on special plates during the event.
Both models have extremely low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The Sharan, for instance, consumes only 8.4 liters of petrol per 100 km – an outstanding achievement for a full-sized 7-seater MPV.
Globally, the Volkswagen Group has great commitment to setting ecological standards, as shown by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. This important sustainability ranking listed Volkswagen in first place in 2013. The company aims to reduce energy and water consumption, as well as CO2 emissions, by 25 percent by 2018.
