Volvo Up For Sale?
In May, it was reported that BMW was actually contemplating on taking over the reigns of Swedish safehouse car manufacturer, Volvo. BMW did go as far as to request copies of the Volvo's financial statements in a bid to come up with a decent offer.

Volvo and it's parent company, Ford, have denied that this ever happened since. According to the president of Ford America, Mark Fields, he informed that Volvo was “too integrated” into the rest of Ford.
Our contacts reveal that the latest going-ons in the BMW/Ford empire is that the BMW and Volvo's staff have met up in Gothenburg in a further bid to disclose financial information to BMW in order for them to come up with an exact offer.
The officials from Ford continue to deny the fact and maintain that Volvo is not for sale. However it must be said that the Blue Oval CEO, Alan Mulally, has said before that “all possible avenues would be considered to turn around its dismal financial state."
