BMW M3 Competition Coupe Review: Stiff Competition
The M3 coupe now comes standard with what BMW calls a Competition Pack. Raymond Lai finds out more about the enhanced two-door M3.

Underneath its pumped up bodywork, the M3 Competition offers the same amount of space and practicality for five like in a regular 3 Series coupe while the boot is well-sized - the obligatory golf bag will never be an issue to fit in there.
There are minor enhancements in the M3 like the M style three-spoke thick rimmed steering with contrasting stitching in the colours of M GmbH, unique instruments with shift lights and an M logo on the rev counter, the ultra supportive sports seats with adjustable lateral support and the stubby M DCT gear selector with switches to adjust the EDC and Drivelogic gear shift speed next to it. The carbon fibre trim on the dashboard adds a racy ambience to the cabin.

The M3 has faced stiff competition from the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, the Audi RS 5 as well as coupe models like base model Porsche 911s and the Cayman S. And soon, the Japanese will join in the fray with the Lexus ISF. It looks like the M3 is facing rivalry from all angles but it is undoubtedly, the four seater coupe model of choice for those who place driving fun as top priority. The improved Competition model here just reaffirms my view on this.
