Black is back
Porsche Centre Singapore unveils two new models. The Porsche 911 Black Edition and Boxster S Black Edition.

Porsche Centre Singapore underwent a stylish black-themed makeover Tuesday evening last week, as Stuttgart Auto, the official distributor of Porsche in Singapore, presented the 911 Black Edition and the Boxster S Black Edition to over 200 guests. The guests, all adeptly dressed to the nines in accordance with the “stylish black” dress-code, were also treated to a “black and white” photo-exhibition by local photographers Alvin Tang, Chuck Reyes and Lester Lai. Out of the 24 photographs on display, six images are artistically captured shots of the Porsche 911 Black Edition by Lester Lai. These photographs are available for sale during the event and all proceeds will be donated to Club Rainbow.

The 911 Black Edition and the Boxster S are produced globally in limited numbers – 1,911 units of the 911 and 987 units of the Boxster S – adding exclusivity and elegance to the respective models. As the limited edition model name suggests, both the Black Edition 911 and the Boxster S will only be available in black paint and comes with a specially designed “black-on-black” interior design colour scheme, featuring black leather upholstery, a black themed centre console and a black-backed instrument cluster. Both model variants are based on their existing model range – the 911 Carrera and the Boxster S (complimented with an additional enhanced equipment package and minor aesthetical cues including tastefully placed Black Edition logos. Stuttgart Auto is also proud to announce that the Black Edition 911 Coupe that it currently holds bears the unit serial number 1,911 – the last Black Edition 911 unit produced.

Mr Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Stuttgart Auto said: “Black is a colour that is universally associated with both sophistication and power. Fittingly, the aesthetical enhancements given to both the Black Edition 911 and Boxster S will add a touch of sophistication to both cars, complimented with the class leading power and performance capabilities that the 911 and the Boxster S are renowned for. I am confident that both models will reach out to sports car aficionados that besides driving pleasure, crave that extra bit of exclusivity and design in their choice of cars.”

For the launch of the exclusive Black Edition models, Stuttgart Auto also continued their commitment and ongoing outreach and to the wider community by working with the three local photographers and Club Rainbow to sell off the 24 black-and-white photographs on display. All proceeds from this photo exhibition will go to Club Rainbow, a registered charity committed to helping children and youths suffering from a range of chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses. From a donation of SGD 688, buyers would be able to choose one of the six black-and-white photographs of the Black Edition models. The rest of the photographs will be priced at a donation of SGD 288. Stuttgart Auto is also pleased to announce that Executive Chairman, Mr Karsono Kwee, will match dollar-for-dollar for all donations received.

The 911 Black Edition is based on the 345bhp Carrera model with a 3.6-litre engine. The car features a particularly comprehensive equipment package and will be available in Coupé or Cabriolet. Only 1,911 units of the 911 Black Edition will be produced, adding to the exclusivity and desirability of this model variant. The basic price of the 911 Black Edition starts from SGD 359,888 for the Coupe and SGD 404,888 for the Cabriolet. This includes a 5-year free maintenance and warranty program, road tax and GST but exclude COE prices.

The Porsche Boxster model line has a new luxurious top model in addition to the sporty Boxster Spyder – the Boxster S Black Edition. Limited to 987 cars, the Boxster S Black Edition has a power output of 320bhp – 10bhp more than the Boxster S – and offers a substantially larger range of standard equipment and exclusive special options. The new mid-engined sports car is black all over: Black body, black hood and black lightweight 19-inch Boxster Spyder wheels which accentuate the muscular appearance of the top roadster. The basic price of the Boxster S Black Edition starts from SGD 272,888. Prices are inclusive of a 5-year free maintenance and warranty program, road tax and GST but exclude COE prices.
