There was also a treat at the end of the day – taxi rides with the instructors. Using the 911 Turbo Cabriolet, Cayman S and Cayenne Turbo as their “taxis”, the instructors took participants on a wild ride, going at nerve-wrecking speeds with sideway actions to boot. It created quite a visual spectacle as, after all, how often do you get to see a Porsche over-steering with a cloud of smoke on its trail?

if you were to ask me which Porsche model impresses me most, I’ll willingly say the Porsche Cayman S. Why so? Well, with that mid-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, it showed off its agility and handling prowess without a hiccup. In fact, the Cayman S feels much at home when thrown at slaloms and tight turns, as compared to the 911 Targa 4S. At the same time, the helm has much feel even when you’re gunning down the straights and have to brake hard and fast before flicking the steering left and right. Its 24-valve 3,387cc flat-six engine, mated to a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission is good for 295bhp and 340Nm of torque. Interestingly, the Cayman S clocks the century sprint in only 6.1 seconds despite the 1,4655kg kerb weight.

On a personal note,

I wonder what surprise is in store when the PDK-equipped Cayman S arrives here next month…
