BYD Expands Plug-in Hybrid Line-up In Singapore With New SEAL 6 DM-i
Latest PHEV tech now brought to sedan and wagon styles, with prices starting from S$191,888.

BYD has officially launched the new SEAL 6 DM-i in Singapore, giving buyers a fresh plug-in hybrid option that blends EV-style driving with long-distance flexibility. Dynamic and Premium variants are in sedan format, while the Touring is packaged in a more functional wagon silhouette - ideal for larger, bulkier grocery hauls.

Prices start from S$191,888 for the Dynamic, S$195,888 for the Touring and S$199,888 for the Premium, with all variants including S$8,000 worth of ownership benefits.

Power comes from BYD’s Super DM-i plug-in hybrid setup, which combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and the brand’s Blade Battery tech. In day-to-day driving, the car is designed to run mostly like an EV, especially around town, while the petrol engine kicks in for longer drives when needed. BYD claims up to 1,400km of combined range for the Dynamic and Touring models, while the Premium manages up to 1,300km.

The regular sedan gets a sleek fastback-style shape, while the Touring leans more towards practicality with extra cargo space, roof rails and a hands-free power tailgate. Boot space is rated at 491 litres in the sedan, while the Touring bumps that up to 670 litres before folding the rear seats down.

Inside, the SEAL 6 DM-i gets a large infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof and a roomy cabin aimed at everyday comfort. BYD has also swapped out the usual lead-acid battery for a 12V lithium iron phosphate unit, which the company says is more durable and needs less maintenance over time.
