Chevrolet introduces the Optra Magnum CNG in Singapore

The new Chevrolet Optra Magnum CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) was just unveiled, becoming the first ever CNG vehicle to be available direct from the manufacturer. The Chevrolet Optra Magnum CNG offers an environmentally friendly, safe and economical ownership experience for Singaporean drivers. The Optra Magnum CNG will be available in two body variants - sedan and estate, both with an engine capacity of 1.6-litres and mated to 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Optra Magnum CNG is the first original factory fitted car in its segment in Singapore with CNG fuel system installed directly at the manufacturer, and comes with a valid three-year / 100,000km standard warranty and 24-hour after-sales support. This means that Chevrolet CNG owners will enjoy greater peace of mind and a different ownership experience compared to locally-fitted CNG vehicle owners, where the retrofitting of CNG can void a car's warranty.

Besides being environmental-friendly, CNG has a clean combustion which means the engine stays clean and produces less noise. CNG vehicles fulfill all present emission standards worldwide, including the Euro 4 standard, and does not require catalytic converters. Currently, CNG car owners have the option to refuel at any one of the three refueling stations around the island - Jurong Island, Jalan Buroh and Mandai Link. Two more refueling stations are slated to open at Bukit Merah and Serangoon North Avenue 5.

Bookings for the Chevrolet Optra Magnum CNG are now available from Chevrolet dealers. The Chevrolet Optra Magnum sedan is priced at $62,688, while the Chevrolet Optra Magnum estate is priced at $65,488. Both prices include COE.
