COE news: Prices go skywards towards $40k
COE prices went up to as high as $42k today after the end of March's second bidding exercise.

Open Cat COE premiums saw the biggest rise of over 50 percent from the last round to end at $42,001.
Cat A COE prices have previously been resilient to significant price increases in recent months but it too, wasn't spared this time - it rose over 35 percent from the last round to close at $28,389 while the less price sensitive big car Cat B COEs rose to $36,089.
Industry players expected COE price increments after the quota for the coming months was greatly reduced but few expected that prices would shoot pass the $40k mark this early.
