After the sleek looking 6, Mazda obviously felt it was time to give their much-loved MX-5 roadster a mid-life update.
For 2009, the Miata will have revised front and rear bumper fascias, head and tail lights. Engine choices are set to remain the same. However, the powerplants will have new pistons and valve springs, allowing them to achieve their peak torque at higher revs.
The six-speed manual will receive carbon coated syncros between gears 1 through 4, for smoother shifts. Other changes are: revised suspension, increased leg room and increased insulation in the wheel wells as well as hard top roof to reduce road and wind noise.
